Arnold Lobel wrote almost a hundred children books in his career. Many of his books won awards. He was both an author and an illustrator of all his books. Most of his books included animals. 


Arnold Lobel was married to Anita Lobel. She was an author and illustrator of
her books too. He had a son and a daughter and three grandchildren. He died of AIDS on December 4th, 1987, at the age of 54.
